Formerly enslaved Barney Ford became one of the richest men in 1870s Colorado.
 
This rags to riches story is based on the inspiring real-life of Barney Ford, who is enshrined in stained glass in the Colorado State Capitol. 
 
Fires. Robbery. Prejudice - Barney faced continual hardships and struggles - and yet he triumphed. His entrepreneurial spirit, tenacity and friendly demeanor endured as a gold miner, barber, hotelier, and civil rights advocate.
