Our mission is to create a true city center affording access to all citizens for the purposes of relevant, inspired, and thoughtful works of the human spirit. Award winning filmmaker Julie Speer Jackson takes a look into the history of the 100-year-old building and explores the Community Cultural Collective's vision for the future of the building.

Featuring personal stories of healing, this 56 minute documentary explores how three Coloradans have dealt with the lifelong changes that come with a spinal cord injury inflicted by a bullet. From a drive-by shooting, to an accidental shooting, to a mass shooting, discover how each of them dealt with the physical, mental and financial impact, tackled forgiveness, and explored alternative treatments like acupuncture and massage to help in their journey of healing. What would lead approximately 675 volunteer soldiers to attack a peaceful settlement of Cheyenne and Arapaho Indians in the Southeastern Colorado Territory? On November 29, 1864, Colonel John Chivington led a group to do just that, resulting in the deaths of over two hundred men, women, and children. This episode revisits the horrific events and uncovers the history 150 years later. Born into slavery, Barney Ford escaped at 26 and endured racism, fires, and mining claim jumping to become one of only 46 African Americans in the Colorado Territory. Undeterred, he became one of the richest men in the state as a miner, barber, restaurateur, and hotel owner—a true entrepreneur—all while fighting endlessly for Black rights.
